Yankees acquire Russell Wilson

Big name player? Sure. The Yankees are interested. The New York Yankees just acquired Russell Wilson from the Texas Rangers. Yes, Super Bowl Champion, Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson. Yankees are just forming an all star team and it doesn’t matter what sport you happen to play as long as you’re an all star, you are welcomed aboard. Wilson has no plans to play in the MLB but it is interesting to see how many teams think highly of him on the diamond. He was in the Rockies system before being plucked by the Rangers in the Rule 5 draft. Wilson is expected to make an appearance at the Yankees spring training camp in Tampa either later this month or the beginning of March. Not much is going to stem from this but it is pretty cool to say the Yankees have a Super Bowl champion on their roster. Even if it’s not going to amount to anything, he is now the Bronx version of Tim Tebow.
